Pink eye & Postage stamps
Yesterday, Liv was complaining that she missed Elfie, A.K.A. Willy the Elf, A.K.A. our elf on the shelf. She was very sad when she had to say goodbye to him on Christmas eve and didn't like the idea of not seeing him again until next Thanksgiving. She didn't appear to be feeling that great so I decided it would be fun to write Elfie a letter. Liv loved the idea and went right to work. She told me exactly what she wanted to write to him and I told her how to spell the words that she was unsure of. She wrote the letter, drew a picture, addressed the envelope and stamped it. Excellent work!
As the day went on she appeared to be feeling more and more like herself. We went to visit G.G. , great Grandma, and then Gramma called to ask if Liv wanted to have a sleepover at her house and Auntie Mimma would sleep there too. I was a little leery of her staying out but by this point she seemed to be herself, only with boogies. Sure, why not. She's only 5 minutes away if she needs us.
The phone rang in our bedroom at 7:30AM. She needed us after all. The poor thing woke up with her eyes all gooped shut. Pink eye.
2012 has come out swingin'. Poor kiddo.
So, to cheer up our best gal, Mike "stopped by the post office" to "mail" her letter. She was thrilled to hear it. I told her it might take some time to hear back from Elfie and she replied, "I know Mama. The North Pole is really far away."

so cute!
